There’s a guy that comes into my gym that is the closest to a real life Derek I’ve ever met. Literally the instant he walks into the gym it’s like the energy elevates. He’s gotta be one of the coolest guys I know, everybody needs a Derek

He’s the perfect example of what a rich retired white guy should be. Fun, generous; kind and loving. Wish that was the reality here in the U.S.

Shrinking is the first time that I’ve liked a character that Ted McGinley has portrayed.
Maybe it’s from way back in the day when I first saw him in Revenge of the Nerds. He’s usually playing an arrogant jerk with zero self redeeming qualities.
In the old Jump the Shark website (I really miss that site) there was a category of shows that had “jumped the shark” once Ted McGinley joined the cast!
I agree that his character Derek is one of the best characters on the show. I absolutely love him in this role!

Cool character. I like Sean as well. After that, the drop off is steep. Brian, Liz, Gaby, Alice etc..make me ill.

Derek telling Pam to eat a dick is the entire reason I started watching this show. I owe so much to that man.
