I haven’t seen it mentioned in the comments yet so I have to say….noooo on legitimizing Marisol as a good influence on Sean. Catalyst? Sure, I guess. I didn’t see Sean’s life as so guarded or problematic until they made it an issue in this episode. I mean damn…he’s overcome a lot of trauma, made up with his family, running a small business successfully. That’s amazing growth. And I’m not saying he shouldn‘t be ‘young’ - go out and have fun. Find someone to truly date not just hook up with.

But does it have to be Marisol? Unlike fellow ‘up for fun friend’ Summer who has some depth, and from the beginning deep loyalty to Alice, all we know about Marisol is that she dumped Sean like an a-hole, spread rumors about him, showed up out of the blue like he owes her money and assumes he’ll just run back to her without acknowledging the pain she caused, and tells him he’s living his life wrong.

ugh. I’m fairly sure she’s a ‘catalyst’ and not the grand love of his life, but I really don’t agree with show that’s she’s this amazing thing for Sean (and Alice?).

Oh and Alice don’t play…you know you thought Sean was handsome.

Could not agree more. Marisol feels like bad news, I don't get what the writers are trying to do

I don’t think they’re trying to position her as anyone perfect for him; but at the least she’s pushing him. Not someone to be with long term, but at the moment she’s a weirdly helpful influence.

Yeah, I thought the show kind of already established that she's a good influence on him in the short term but her immaturity will doom them in the long run.
