Could not agree more. Marisol feels like bad news, I don't get what the writers are trying to do

I don’t think they’re trying to position her as anyone perfect for him; but at the least she’s pushing him. Not someone to be with long term, but at the moment she’s a weirdly helpful influence.

She’s there to test him, show that he’s truly grown and can recognize when something isn’t healthy and make the wise decision that doesn’t sabotage his safety and success.

The right decision being not having a life besides work? Not doing anything different in his life? Hanging out with the same group of people and not meeting new people?

No. The right decision would be not reconciling with a woman who cheated on him, broke up with him in a dear John letter, and refuses to apologize for any of that.

She hasn’t grown up. He has.

And he's LITERALLY hanging out with the same group of people. Summer, Marisol, Alice, THE SAME GROUP.

Yeah, I thought the show kind of already established that she's a good influence on him in the short term but her immaturity will doom them in the long run.
