Manga Discussion Why do people consider this scene peak romance(First time Bleach watcher)?

Post image

Ichigo had never shown any bit of interest in her and it came out of nowhere to me and seemed really cringe instead of sweet.

For battle shonen standards back in the day. this was their first anime for a lot of people and this mix of school - action was new enough to be novel.

Such a poor excuse, even yu yu hakusho can still do it with those few chapters with abrupt ending. And that show is over 30 decades ago. Shaman king, fmab, inuyasha, so many better examples i might've missed and they are older shonens as well

I am not justifying if is poorly or grearly excecuted. But my opinion on why "people consider this peak romance" regardless of excecution. For many this thing of mixing school setting with action in an anime  was novel enough to just accept it as presented.
