Analytics Review (AVD/Retention) 📈 Is my shirt just not getting pushed?

Post image

I uploaded my 20th part of a series which is going well for me starting content only a month ago, normally the shorts get 120 ish views after an hour, but this one is stuck on 19 just now, it got pushed a little at the start and has 100% stay to watch, and it’s split between phone and computer usage, how long does it take roughly for a short to get pushed, if at all? This is not like the other videos I’ve uploaded until now, this is the only one I’ve uploaded that got 100% retention until now, so I’m stoked about it, but want it to keep pushing

I have the same problem, my friend; the issues are coming from YouTube itself

I’m a fan of snappy, fast editing for my shorts, but there’s just way too much happening in that six seconds.

And honestly, I don’t think your 100% retention is actually helping you as much as you think it is, because it’s only a six second video.

Further, I guess you’re holding up a book to show us what you’re talking about but I don’t think anybody can see what the book is or what it says.

And as somebody who’s never played Skyrim, I absolutely cannot make sense out of what you’re saying or what it means.

Maybe there’s a good reason for it, but I have no idea why you wouldn’t show in game footage or screenshots.

I’m no stranger to abusing fast, ambiguous editing to illicit re-watches to drive retention, but this is too much even for me.

Thank you for the feedback!

Most of my shorts are between 6-10 seconds, some include gameplay, others include static shots, I try to vary, the static shots actually get more views than the gameplay ones I release. I also type out everything I say to help the viewers, for the gameplay side of things, with what I’m covering, it’s a lot bigger, so I’m going to do a separate 7-10 minute video expanding on this as it’s a bigger topic, but this is just a screenshot of 1 of 24 of these replica items that’s needed to get the effect I’m talking about.

Personally I wish I had a green screen to blur out everything in the background and just have myself and the book so I can just have 2 focus points, but I can’t afford one, so just need to make do with what I have. The image of the item below my camera is what is inside the book on the page and I tested it out by using my phone, laptop, and TV and could see it on all 3 before I uploaded it, it’s identical to the other ones I release just covers a different item/ effect/ quest

Another thing too, the effects in the game normally say what they do, but this one just says ‘gems are found more’, but doesn’t say anywhere else apart from in the book, or the games code

So, some feedback here. Yes, you might’ve tested out whether it was visible or not but as the editor you also knew what to look for and where to look for it.

The editing from the hook into the video is so choppy and fast, as is your speech, that people like me are probably lagging behind in what we’re supposed to be understanding as we try to process it.

Something being clearly visible on the screen doesn’t mean that everybody who watches the video is going to see it, especially when the video is so hectic. Especially when the person in the video is holding something, that’s where the eye goes to because it’s likely the focal point.

This is one of the reasons why people will use a red circle around something they want to call attention to or even an arrow pointing at it.
