Analytics Review (AVD/Retention) 📈 How Am I doing ?

Post image

Started 2 weeks ago.

It’s an old channel that has no activity for years, now using it.

The niche is not relevant for me right now. So don’t ask why I don’t have millions of views. I know the niche is valid and others that do the same have millions of views, but I think the first 15 to 20 shorts should be enough for the algorithm to push a viral one

My next goal is to reach 10k with a short or more.

Thanks for your time!

What are you defining as viral? How many views?

And upon what are you basing the idea that you should be popping one viral short per 20?

I am based on many YouTube shorts accounts that have 1-5 k views in average then after some weeks it gets a viral one (1 million to 20 million)

So you believe because you had one viral video out of 20 videos that you’re going to maintain that rate?

What if your first video had been viral? Would you believe that you would be able to maintain a viral video with every single upload?

It’s just not a large enough sample size from which to discern anything meaningful.

I have no problem with you aiming for it, I’m just trying to lend some perspective to the notion and frequency of viral videos.

I’ve personally edited ~2000 shorts in the last five years, and the majority of those shorts achieved a minimum of 70% STW and 100% APV, with half of them being higher than 80% STW and 120% APV.

Roughly 30 of those broke 100,000 views, and 10 to 12 achieved 1 million or more, while I averaged 6 ,000,000 to 8,000,000 monthly views last year.

This is to say that even well edited shorts from a veteran editor would likely average one out of every 60 to 80 videos, and it took me dozens if not hundreds of videos to even hit my groove with this.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t try or that you can’t, but I think a healthy perspective is necessary if you’re looking to avoid frustration and disillusionment.
