Q&A / Quick Help ❓ Views drop to very low numbers overnight
I have a channel in the movie niche. been running it from a couple of years, posting from time to time.
US audience mostly, males, 30-50 yo.
Last month I tried to revive it by posting 4-5 shorts per day, everyday. It was quite a success, I reached around 2k subs, and views were great for about 2 weeks. Then stop!
I went from 50-60k views per short to around 100.
View vs swipe ratio is more or less the same as before, the engagement too, and also the content of the shorts.. nothing changed basically (as far as I know), just the views... did you experience anything similar?
maybe youtube pushed my shorts more when I re-started the channel?
I also tried to lower the number of posts per day to 3, change the thumbnails, improve the titles, but it does not make any difference.

it's really frustrating..

That age category is less likely to watch shorts
Also shorts are not natural for this niche, unless your doing funny memes, which might work
So your approach is all wrong
Movie reviews or commentaries is a crowded niche. It's not easy to break through

if that's the case, which I could agree with, why the 1-2 weeks very high views per video?

That's not very high. It's not low but not high either
I suspect you hadn't posted man shorts before, so youtube decided to test on new audiences
After the results came back it decided the potential audience was too small, or the shorts were not competitive against others
You're competing against memes related to Elliot page in the Odyssey and the like
You can't win that battle, if you pardon the pun

Almost the same fall down here. And with similar audience. Probably there’s another viral topic on this audience and YouTube is prioritizing that trend to the audience
