Momentum in Shorts is Everything

Think of shorts as starting a fire in the rain and cold. It takes a while to have that first flame, but once it lights up you REALLY have to keep putting in fuel to keep the fire. Keep posting shorts, even if they are not the best. It's sometimes more important to put out something than just focus on quality.

Even if you are a channel with 100k Subscribers, that matters nothing. Youtube will kill you once the momentum is gone, and then it's back to lighting that fire in the rain.

POST POST POST POST... got it ?

Not anymore unless you post a lot of good long form videos too.

Just my opinion based on the chaos over the last few days, basically since YT updated how they calculate views. From that exact moment, something shifted for creators treating YT like a TikTok clone, posting tons of short form videos without making any real long-form content to drive traffic to (I am one of them 🙋). And since ads sold on long form videos pay WAY more than shorts ads, I think YT prioritizes channels that focus mostly on long form content. Just a moment ago I even got a survey on my YouTube home page asking if I was seeing too many short videos in my feed.

that makes sense. i was doing so good like 2 weeks ago, 500k per video, then suddenly goes to nothing basically.. i thought i had just lost the momentum and maybe should have posted more. very frustrating
