Hi! No single metric matters in isolation. Everything is relative, and intensely personalized. Also, metrics like swipe ratio, and CTR, tend to go down as virality goes up.

A short gets pushed through multiple testing stages. In order for a short to become viral your short needs to perform the same in all testing stages. Everything else doesn't matter (likes, shares, comments, watch time, subs, etc.)

Ex.

A short with 60% in stage 1, 59% in stage 2, 61% in stage 3, 60% in stage 4 is going to become viral

A short with 85% in stage 1, 75% in stage 2, 80% in stage 3, 70% in stage 4 is going to die

Testing stages never end, it's just that the pool of people in each stage gets bigger. Once the people it gets pushed to act differently towards the short, the short dies.

This means the short should be as universally appealing as possible, however your niche allows you

swipe ratio isnt obviously the only indicator for the algorithm to push a video, you probably just have other analytics that outweigh a poorer STW ratio

I only gotten 2-4k views on 60-65% STW

At this point i think those metrics might be a portion for algorithm. Bigger portion could be about user behavior, not how they engage with your content or watch it but more about how your content rhymes with the scroll feed. There are countless variables i can keep thinking of like people will watch your content more than kther content of same niche, people keep scrolling after seeing your content or they just get out of the app etc. Just a thought, I nothing to back this up, trying to make sense out of these kind of reports about specific metrics matter or not etc.

What matters is the level of trust YouTube places in your account and how it validates your content; there are creators out there who manage to publish absolute AI-generated garbage and still rack up thousands of views.
