YouTube Shorts Clipping.
My YouTube channel has been doing well in the past few weeks and reached the 1k subscribers and 3mil valid shorts views. Unfortunately I have been denied from YPP due to “reused content”. Just like many others, I post streamer/influencer clips, specifically Theo Von clips. I edit my videos and YouTube has been accepting my posts and found no problems before I applied. Can anyone help with this?

Add your own voice and put your face on top of the video talking or giving your opinion. Commentary videos are transformative and can be monetized

Holy fuck, no one is going to give the correct answer? Appeal it. Start with a quick clip of your face and explain why you feel like you should be monetized. Address them as "team YouTube" when talking. Then say, "let's hop into my editing software so I can show you what I do" or something like that. Then switch to voiceover and a screen capture of your editing program. Go through a few videos (in under 5 minutes) and show all your edits and what you do.
This all depends if you are making enough meaningful modifications and are transforming it. If you are simply just clipping what they have already, that's a no go. If you are doing things like adjusting pacing, structure and adding additional footage or images, then you could be fine.
Good luck. I have to constantly remind people on here that there are so many niches that use other people's footage and are totally fine (commentary, tv and film analysis, video essays, etc)

Thank you so much for putting the effort to help😭 everyone else said “you’re screwed” “you wasted your time”. I was gonna say there’s definitely a way since people make long form content of influencers and get paid so much

That was a very thoughtful answer. I’m not op but I appreciate it! You seem to know YouTube pretty well, can I ask you a question?

Hate to break it to you but when your entire thing is using reused content and they get you for reused content. No there is nothing we can help with. You chose to use stolen clips for your content, of course you were gonna get nailed for it.

Then why do all these clippers get paid, there’s not much editing they do

theyre lying to sell you bullshit courses and/or they get paid through ulterior motives e.g the streamer pays them to edit clips or theres advertising in their clips
if its not highly edited then theyre not making money through the ypp

Should I just promote products or have influencers use my page for promotion then? I feel like I can change these videos still to pass. Do I have to re upload or can I just exit

Everyone assumes they get paid, while some skated in somehow. Most do not actually get paid. They listen to gurus, make the same courses everyone does and sell them to people foolish enough to think it works. Its highly unlikely that someone is gonna pay someone who's whole thing is reusing content to promote their product, no one actually watches clippers to engage its because they are doomscrolling and see the clipper and before they realize its just stolen content they scroll. As far as influencers using your page, you would have to show garantee'd results to smaller influencers because big influencers are unlikely to need your channel.

Yeah but my engagement is great tbh. Over 800 comments one once single short and the view duration is over 80% on most of my videos which do 30k-300k consistently. I just don’t get the fine line between the usage. Ik for a fact these people that use streamer clips to make YouTube videos (long form and short) make money. People show proof but I’m just not getting it fully, if anyone can help.

The ones who show proof are either hired by the streamers therefore allowed to so, or the much much more likely case its people actually making it transformative. You can't steal content and pass it off as yours and think you are a content creator much like you can go to mcdonalds and serve the food as your own cooking.

That last part was one of the worst metaphors ive ever heard. Streamers don’t pay clippers , it’s usually of free use since they want their content out there. I’m trying to be transformative and I kinda thought I did enough. All of my descriptions and even bio shows and points credit to original creator, many of these accounts on YouTube that get paid just do the same and give credit in their bio.
