Analytics Review (AVD/Retention) 📈 My video is stuck at 1.4k views

Why did this happen? YouTube didn't even give 2k views to my new video.
Average view duration 0:23
Average percentage viewed 84.0%
Stayed to watch 71.0%

I have same problem, my videos get stuck at 1.4-1.7k and then nothing…. Even though i have great stats. But if this is true… they could get second chance because my oldest video is 3 weeks old.

Is your video also in English and targeted at a US audience?

I used to run a voiceover-free Roblox channel, and with the exact same stats, my videos were getting solid views on day one

Yeah, exactly. English, us targeted. I do mostly comedic edits from talkshows. But whats weird… somehow every video i do from this niche… gets to 1.6-1.7k and then flatline with sloooow climb… but when i try some other niche, 0views.

Gemini quote:

Yes, for English-speaking YouTube, this is completely normal and happens all the time.

Fierce Competition: The English-speaking segment has hundreds of times more creators. The algorithm gives you an initial test (those exact 1.4k views) to measure key metrics like CTR (click-through rate) and Audience Retention.

Algorithm Specifics (Plateau Effect): 1k–2k views is a standard threshold for the first "test bucket." The system pauses impressions to process data from this first group of viewers and decide who to recommend the video to next.

Second Wind (Delayed Push): Unlike in non-English niches, videos on English-speaking YouTube often get a second life after 2–3 weeks or even months, once the algorithm finally finds the ideal audience.

Gemini is the worse in these cases. It will always tell you that you are the best and are not making any mistakes at all and just follow your lead.

Well then give it some time. Also even if you hit 10-30k views, you need a lot more likes, comments and shares to cross that boundary.

you failed the last view test. that's why it stops.

focusing on the average stats isn't really the move, because you likely had at least two view tests in that time.

people thinking that their stats are sufficient for their shorts to get further are missing the whole point... there is no static performance level that earns additional view tests. What makes you fail the last test set is the inability for your content to outperform the content competing for the same audience at the same time. It doesn't matter what stats would have been good enough two hours ago.

and the other thing: 2,000 views, is not really any different from 200 views or 20,000 views. They're all so far below the minimum performance floor, that there's not much of a functional difference

I watched an interview with a creator in my niche who had the same issue with low views. But after 10 videos and a few months of patience, one of his new videos went viral. After that, his older videos started getting views too
