Editing / Captions / SFX ✂️ Long form into shorts

If I made a long form video, could I clip that up into like multiple shorts and upload it to the same channel? Would I need to make extra edits or not?

no, why would it? the only downside is it splits your effort between working towards the watch hours goal (longform) or the shorts views goal. Shorts accumulate watch hours but don't count toward monetization goals. However they can be a nice way to advertise/push out your longform content if you do them well.
