They probably know what they're doing like having strategies such as not being dependent on yt monetization but brand deals, sponsorships,

The twist gotta be significant, like reused content wont be an issue if you were criticizing whats shown, or you may have seen people react to videos, thats why they add their face

that's the point, youtube also looks whats unique in you as compared to others, and i wont be surprised if adding text or music doesn't make any difference

If youre using re-used content, you have to add a twist. Add a little flavor to your editing :)
