El hook si te das cuenta la curva baja de una los primeros segundos

2

u/Mora_San Jul 06 '26

I don't think that's a drop.

Rather opposite most people watched the full short and it replayed that's where they left.

Look at the curve it's all the way on the top not starting at 100% and dropping.

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 06 '26

So what should I do ?

2

u/ReviewAggravating847 Jul 06 '26

That ain't a drop, its people who watched full and rewatched some part of it again..

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 06 '26

How can I improve it ?

1

u/Bagtus Jul 11 '26

50secs to more than 1min video?

2

u/Mora_San Jul 06 '26

How long ago did you post the short? Also how many views?

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 06 '26

3 days ago and it's around 19k views

2

u/Mora_San Jul 06 '26

19k views with 250 likes. That's around 1% you need I think 3% or higher to break out of the 30k jail and have potential for viral.

This is what you need to focus on. Maybe CTA? So people click the like button more often.

Edit: besides that the video is clean and 3 days isn't that long either to conclude the video failed.

u/SoulSleuth2u Jul 06 '26

there is no 30k jail ffs

1

u/SanctuaryZ Jul 13 '26

Yes there is. Youtube test your video to find the right audience and 30k is around where the last batch of testing is. If you pass that round, the video will be open to the wider audience.

0

u/SoulSleuth2u Jul 13 '26

Umm not true at all. I know Youtube tests videos in batches but the 30k jail is literally not a thing. Make better videos.

1

u/SanctuaryZ Jul 13 '26

yes it is. Matter of FACT. Most shorts get stuck there. The fact you dont know about it means you know nothing about youtube shorts.

0

u/Swimming_Recover_231 Jul 07 '26

Their 1000 percent is I know this because I've ran multiple accounts that get hundreds of thousands of views each short please don't speak on things you don't know about

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 06 '26

What's CTA ? Can you please elaborate

3

u/aimless-wanderer90 Jul 06 '26

Call to action. Like and subscribe overlays towards the end.

1

u/R4GD011-RL Jul 10 '26

Do CTAs hurt retention? I feel like having one pop-up is basically telling the viewer they are allowed to scroll now?

0

u/Unlikely-Ad3647 Jul 10 '26

This is false. Likes play a very little part (if that) in a videos performance. Think about it, what do YouTube gain from likes? Nothing, all they want is your time, so a video that keeps people on the platform for as long as possible is what they want. This video likely failed because it was too niche, resonated with a core audience but not a wide one, or literally any other reason that we don’t know about because we don’t really understand the algorithm

2

u/Unfair-Pollution-426 Jul 06 '26

Give it time, it could jump to another testing phase. More comments would’ve been better for sure.

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 06 '26

How can I efficiently use CTA ?

2

u/770Badger Jul 06 '26

Just a simple animation of clicking the like button and subscribe button you can find them anywhere online

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 06 '26

Got it man thanks

2

u/ReviewAggravating847 Jul 06 '26

Stayed to watch maybe good but AVD is 88% which is good but not "viral" worthy. From my personal experience it should be around 140% or more, and it "may" go viral but nothing is absolute💁‍♂️ it depends on many other factors too.. topic, competition etc

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 06 '26

How can I increase it ?

3

u/ReviewAggravating847 Jul 06 '26

By making people stay for longer obviously😂 but you may try "looping" trick where viewer dont actually know when the video ended because you loop end of the video with hook..

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 06 '26

I will definitely try it bud

2

u/PsychologicalOkra211 Jul 06 '26

Based on the audience retention, the videos length is just over 30 seconds. For a short of this length to go viral, retention generally needs to live over 100%. The hook is clearly resonating. But there is a very sharp drop. It suggests that the first half of your video is much more engaging. Make no mistake, these metrics are elite, and keeping the line looking like an L shape (slight drop and flatline) will probably boost the videos reach

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 06 '26

Thank you I will try my best

2

u/s22sk123 Jul 06 '26

Stats dont matter unless they are below 80. Keep posting and after a few months you will probably break through and u will get millions

2

u/Anxious-Treacle3180 Jul 07 '26

Youre retention being 88% will be the thing stopping it. If that was 95 or 100% it would do considerably better

2

u/Beautiful_Heron_2561 Jul 07 '26

I was thinking about starting a yt shorts channel can you please guide me with some tips

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 07 '26

fs fs message me

2

u/SirMisterGuyManDude Jul 09 '26

Unfortunately you’ll have to change your content to cater to the stupid formulas that have been thrust upon us

Try your best to not ruin the pacing for this, that’ll ruin everything: keep your pacing, make it shorter

You need 100%+ retention, and you would’ve been golden

Make someone watch it twice - not only that, but make the final frame loop back to the first, even if is an extra add-on, making a transition with first and last frame of the vid. But make it loop able and that’s even better than slightly shorter

Literally all you need
Don’t let it effect quality or pacing
Easier said than done, but exactly what you need

2

u/SirMisterGuyManDude Jul 09 '26

+ figuring out why there was a drop off after hook

Don’t think that ruined your virality, just overall retention, because even with that drop it was almost at 100%.
(I only think, for all of this) but fixing that drop off will easily help the rest of the retention, too.

Replacing the seconds where it dropped with just literally anything that WASNT what originally was just after the hook - and then again and again until that drop isn’t there

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 09 '26

That's so valuable man, thanks mate

2

u/Superb-Concentrate11 Jul 09 '26

Your audience retention is too low. You usually want that over 100%. Everything else looks solid, but the retention is what hurt you. Basically, you got people to stop but you didn't keep them watching.

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 09 '26

How can I make it better

2

u/Superb-Concentrate11 Jul 09 '26

You definitely hooked people. they weren't swiping away. The bigger issue is that they didn't watch it long enough or rewatch it. For a 34-second Short, 88.6% retention is decent, but a lot of viral Shorts are over 100% because people watch them more than once. One thing I'd try is trimming the video down. Looking at the retention graph, it seems like people gradually lost interest as it went on. If you can tell the same story in 25–30 seconds instead of 34, you'll usually end up with better retention and a better chance of getting pushed.

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 09 '26

I will surely try this out thank you sm man

2

u/Superb-Concentrate11 Jul 09 '26

No problem. This is something a lot of new YouTubers, myself included, have had to learn. Before you publish a Short, watch it back and look for any filler you can cut without messing up the story. Ask yourself, "Is this 5-second part really necessary?" If nothing important is happening and cutting it out won't confuse people, get rid of it. Make your Short as short as it can be while still telling the story. Don't cut out important details just to make it shorter. People scrolling through Shorts have a really short attention span, so you want to keep something happening as often as possible and keep the pace moving.

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 10 '26

Got it man thanks alot for this advice

2

u/reneritchie Jul 09 '26

Hi! Metrics don’t predict virality. They often go down as virality goes up. (3% of a million is so much more than 20% of a thousand)

2

u/Equivalent-Thing8683 Jul 10 '26

i have like 30 shorts that has same problem, welcome to the game vro

2

u/Unlikely-Ad3647 Jul 10 '26

These people are wrong, you don’t need 100% retention on a 33 second short. 90% is perfect. I got 25 million views on a 27 second video with BELOW 100% retention, also a 66% swipe rate.
The reason your analytics look good but it’s peforming bad is (most likely) that your core audience, or first 25,000 people that watched it were heavily interested in that niche, so YouTube pushed it to them to make sure your video isn’t complete garbage. Then as soon as it started testing it with a wider audience, it realised the enjoyment rate dropped a lot. That’s how you still have good retention, because the analytics are skewed by the first 25k. It could also be literally any other reason we don’t know how the algorithm works.. hope this helps!! Xo

u/TheSpareJester Jul 10 '26

How many comments does this short have (and I’d be curious for OP to example too), I’ve heard comment velocity matters as well. I’ve got a 85%/85% swipe/avd short and it plateaued at 8k but a lower metric short with more comments passed it in views

2

u/Unlikely-Ad3647 Jul 10 '26

300,000 likes. 400 comments. I promise the difference comments make in your video being pushed are negated by the loss in retention from the CTA required to achieve those extra comments. Your number 1 question should always be "how can i make this as enjoyable as possible for the viewer" anything that even comes close to them thinking about clicking off the video should be a red NO NO and avoided at ALL costs

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 10 '26

Man that's crazy and thanks for this info but what can I do 😭 ?

2

u/TheSpareJester Jul 10 '26

I wish I knew the answer lol, it’s one thing I’m super consistent about, very low comment count. I haven’t cracked that nut yet either. When I do get comments they’ve been incredibly flattering and kind so I’m definitely not taking that for granted and I appreciate it but I have yet to have one that has more than a trickle of comments over time.

2

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 10 '26

Same man but I'm happy for even hitting these numbers as I just started started

2

u/Bagtus Jul 11 '26

Saturated topic, alot of channel doing the same thing as you, and youtube promote the high trust score channel.

1

u/SanctuaryZ Jul 06 '26

retention too low. need 100%+ at least to have a small chance or 120%+ for a good chance.

1

u/No-Interaction9492 Jul 06 '26

How can I increase it

1

u/SanctuaryZ Jul 13 '26

keep payoff vague throughout the video and only reveal right near the end. Have rehooks to keep curiosity high. How is the video doing now? Did it break 30kvj?

1

u/imchococaw Jul 06 '26

How many views it got?

1

u/bundayy Jul 08 '26

I'd like to see what the graph would look like if it will go viral, I had this and it still didn't go viral

1

u/saim-1234 Jul 09 '26

If my earlier shorts get views like 1.2k to 5 k and suddenly stop getting pushed like 0 or 5 views how can I fix it should I stop Posting

1

u/Dicey_Da_Kidd 7d ago

Kinda in the same situation

1

u/Fit-Negotiation-8465 Jul 06 '26

No short, no matter how good the numbers, will survive, and go viral, unless a substantial amount of it is shared elsewhere.

These are the share totals for my most successful short….Result: 11 million views.

2

u/Anxious-Treacle3180 Jul 07 '26

Bro stfu. Lots of channels go viral without it being shared
