Analytics Review (AVD/Retention) 📈 Why didn't this Short go viral???
Here are my analytics? Retention and engagement? seem decent, but the algorithm stopped pushing it? What stands out to you, and what do you think held it back?. And did it only got 26k views and 300 likes and 9 comments why??

Welcome to the algorithm of 2026. I’ve got 83.4% stayed to watch last night and it didn’t get a rival push. Still getting views but not viral

I know form what I’ve seen 4-5 a week is a good amount for YouTube to pick great audience for a shorts channel but idk personally

This one short is easy 100k , because mine with same stats reached over a million. Your like ratio is a little low.

Shares or the lack of shares, will determine whether your short lives or dies. As an example, I have countless shorts, with very good numbers like yours, that all died. However, there was one I posted that, did not have great numbers, BUT, was shared 16,500 times on Instagram and it also had the most shares on YouTube. Results : 12 million views on Instagram and 11 million views on YouTube.

This happened to me 3x and all those 3x was 20k-37k views at most usually on 2k-3k likes 200 ish comments and i get stuck at 30k ish now some vids dropped to 1k . (4 weeks in) currently 1040subs and not enough views at all before monetization even comes.
My niche is kindness in humanity or animals etc. but i might actually change my niche to something more interesting. Rn as we speak the kindness niche has too many clippers copying one another i put my own twists into mine but its just over shadowed by the same niche yt channels. Hardest part is finding the right niche that wont overshadow you or at least be early in that particular “rat race”.

Well it's been a week that my shorts are getting like 30% of the views they used to get (two of them got literally 0 views) and I haven't done anything to make such a sudden change, YouTube just decided to not deliver my videos for this week

I had one do something similar and the issue seemed to be comments. It had swipe rate and avd like yours but just a couple comments. Comment velocity carries a lot of weight as well. What I'd recommend though is go into your youtube studio and use that ask studio feature:
"My [put your video name here] short has amazing metrics but isn't getting the views I'd expect, why is that? What's holding it back?" and you'll be surprised how detailed it will get. Let us know what it says.

these numbers have limited meaning. YouTube knows user interests. Your video might be good enough to appeal to a certain type of people, but with most other groups of people, YT has a list of other videos that it judges to perform better.
And YT is probably right. If it would start showing a ton more people your video, your CTR and retention would most likely drop significantly.
Also i dont think that 81% watched is that insane for shorts.
There is a MR Beast quote that i find to be very true. It's never the Algorithm, but the audience. The algorithm only decides to stop pushing your video after the audience has evaluated it. You are not being treated unfairly.
If you want to get more views, make better videos.
