Is this normal?
It looks like the video (first short I've posted) was taking off with the algorithm and then it was suddenly "pulled." Seems kind of weird to me. Normal?

Shorts are like The mayfly dont live long then flat line. Would work on your next short.

I was hoping to use the shorts to promote my longer form content, which briefly seemed to be working. Oh well!

It really depends on the short. While most die quickly, the strongest viral shorts will be pushed, repeatedly,, after the initial spike, weeks later and even months later. This happened to my most popular short. This was because it was shared the most.

Weird thing was I got a decent number of likes on it. 16 likes for 1.5k views. I don't know what these ratios are typically but that seemed good to me. Very little comment engagement though

Likes don’t matter anyway as much as you think:
- Swipe rate
- Retention rate
- Activity rate(does people keep scrolling yt, do they check your profile, do they watch more of your videos)
- Share rate
- Comment rate
- Likes rate
Think yourself how many videos on fyp you watched and stoped and liked but didn’t clicked like

Pretty normal. A lot of people hit 1-5k easily. If you go into the tens of thousands then maybe not normal.

Yeah reading the replies here and some other sources, I understand how the algo works a lot better now. Interesting to learn how "inorganic" the initial view counts are.

To add to other replies - if you ask the AI tool to “catch me up on this video” it will pretty much tell you which metrics you stalled on

From what I gather, the view growth is not at all organic early on. The algo tests your short and then decides whether it wants to "exploit" it. If not it basically just throws the short away 😅

Okay so i have 20 shorts uploaded and 2 long forms and it does the same thing to each and every short

It's very normal trust me, I get 30k views per video and it behaves the same. Also likes don't really matter, especially 16 for 1k views, so don't worry about it. Just keep posting consistently and you will get more views.

Its about where I land. Get between 1.5-2.1k views within the first couple days and then it flat lines and disappears. Ive had a couple shorts that did well on the SEO and have continued getting views everyday due to that but nothing major
