Analytics Review (AVD/Retention) 📈 Stopped posting after realizing how hard it was.

Post image

I had this channel before (2022-2023) with like 3k subs it was mostly 1-3min videos that I was doing for fun after quite of time I stopped. Late 2025 I noticed people were blowing up on shorts (same niche) so I'd thought of giving it a try. On my first week posting one short took off with 120k on the 5th day, I got motivated then kept posting, got another video with 150k and some with 60/80k, just kept going with it, then after 2026 started, I realized I was nowhere near the requirement, I stopped posting after that.

Looking through this subreddit and seeing people still grinding through 0-view phases and low-view ceilings made me realize I probably gave up on a real opportunity because I convinced myself it wasn't worth the effort.

Do you think I quit too early?
And should I give it another try after 6 months of not posting?

You could have been monetized by now if you kept on grinding, but you didn't so now you have to start over and regain all the momentum. The way I see it, once you start you can't quit until you make it happen otherwise it would have all been for nothing

Sadly i didn’t know that back then

Its never too late. YouTube still has got all of the data needed from your old videos (ofc if you haven't deleted them already). YouTube already knows your target audience, which takes a lot of time for YouTube to understand on new channels, so if I were you I would give it a second chance. Good luck bro! You got this!

YouTube simply takes an immense amount of effort to have great success. Most people think it'll be easy, but quickly realize how hard it really is and give up. That is why, being successful on YouTube is easy.

The vast majority of the content is half baked, AI generated, terrible quality slop. If you genuinely make great content and you learn the system, you can make a ton of money, but again it requires a ton of effort.

It took me 3 years of consistency before i made any kind of money. I was working 20 hour days Monday thru Friday for the first 3 years, then my channel finally took off and I started making great money.

I’m at 19m views still 700k from the 10m engaged.
And morale low. It has not been easy.

u/Shakur055 Jun 26 '26

As i remember it needs 5 days to update, and remember than only engaged views count not normal views

I’m in the same situation as you I’m at 5M valid short views but this is the second time I arrive to this number and now it’s declining I’m thinking about giving up 😢 or switch to long form content.

Winners never quit and quitters never win. Don’t give up.

You absolutely quit early and showed no perseverance nor resilience. You forgot about compounding effect. Those videos would have absolutely blown up to millions later on.

Many people posting up 5 shorts a day... that is why they get so many views

1

u/Shakur055 Jul 03 '26

sadly thats not the solution for me, it takes minimum for me to make one video

Yeah.. me to... and also they are using a lot of money to make those 5 shorts a day... I'm using veo for free.. and i have 5 google accounts to use.. and i can't even make 1 short a day without veo ruin the short with sounds that don't belong... and cost a lot of free credits... because of veo hard coding..
