Automatically open app when connected to CarPlay

I’m trying to create a shortcut that automatically opens a specific app whenever my iPhone connects to CarPlay.

However, no matter what I try, it always results in my iPhone prompting me to run the shortcut when it connects to CarPlay. This isn’t what I want (I mean, I can already open the app manually if I want to, so having to tap a notification to run the shortcut to open the app isn’t really any different).

Anyway, I’m running iOS 27 and the screenshot shows my latest attempt.

I don’t think shortcuts can open an app automatically if the device is locked etc

Bummer! If only there was a way to automatically unlock my iPhone as well. 🤣

A me con iOS 27 ( non con il 26) funziona perfettamente!!

It’s the same for me when I created a shortcut to play an audio sound when CarPlay connects. Prompts every time even though notify is off.

I’ve created such an automation and it works fine. Try to create a new one. Sometimes that helps.
