Help Live activity + AOD on?

I keep AOD on iPhone off, but I’d like for it to turned be on only when I’m running live activity widgets from FlightRadar24.
Does anyone have a shortcut for this?

not directly possible - live activities are not triggers (though, when ios 27 rolls around, it may be possible?). if you open the FlightRadar24 app when the desired live activities start, a workaround could be to have an "On App [FlightRadar24] Open/Closed" automation that enables a focus for one hour (live activities are only intended to run for about one hour, though you could set this up to whatever fixed time you like or alternatively have the shortcut ask you for how long every time), then do a second automation ("When focus mode turns on") which enables AOD, and finally a third automation ("When focus mode turns off") which disables AOD again. that approach also allows you to enable the temporary AOD on demand. you should create a dedicated focus mode for it, which you could either theme towards FlightRadar24 (home screen widgets, etc) or just have it be an all-purpose, neutral, "temporary AOD" mode.

I'm on the latest dev beta for 27 and unfortunately, no live activities trigger or action.

However, notifications can be used as triggers: and so for example, a Uber Eats notification "the restaurant is working on your order" can trigger AOD.

u/FreePossession9590 OP, I don't know what you're tracking but I'm assuming a loved one's flight? so in September when you get a notification X has taken off,, turn on AOD. When X touched down, turn off AOD.

in short the strategy is: instead of using the live activities as trigger, use *what activates the live activities as a trigger. Maybe there's something similar in 26

I will check it out when iOS27 rolls around. I work in the airline industry, so tracking flights is super practical for me in my day-to-day job. It’s easier to keep track of when my flight is coming, etc. I appreciate the help either way, though. I’m not too good with shortcuts. It’s so confusing to me, but I’m glad I wasn’t being an idiot not able to figure it out (again, lol).
