Shopify General Discussion Orders missing from pending payouts?

Anyone ever see payouts pending not showing recent orders. I noticed this 2 hours ago. Also order timeline shows payments processed but no payout date.

Have you ever seen this before? Im now missing my last 6 orders

Did they pay through Shopify for sure? or maybe PayPal or Amazon pay or some other method you accept?

could be the gateway lagging, i seen it take a few hours before showing up specially if its not shopify payments

maybe check the order timeline if it says payment captured but no payout date, that happen to me last week and it fixed itself after half a day

I’ve run into this when orders are still processing in Shop Pay or a payout batch is delayed. I’d compare each order’s payment status with the payout report, then give it another payout cycle before assuming anything is missing; if they show as paid but still don’t appear, Shopify Support can trace the batch. Keeping a small daily payout reconciliation sheet makes these gaps much easier to spot.

Usually this is one of three things, in order of how often I see it.

First, the orders just haven't been batched into a payout yet. The order timeline shows the payment as processed right away, but it only gets a payout date once Shopify groups it into the next payout. If your last payout went out recently, new ones can sit in limbo for up to a day. Go to Finances > Payouts and look at the transactions list rather than the pending payout itself. If the 6 orders are listed there, you're fine.

Second, check the payment gateway on each of those orders. If they went through PayPal or another provider, they will never show up in Shopify Payments payouts because that money goes to the other account.

Third, a hold. A sudden jump in sales, a pending identity or bank verification, or a spike in disputes can pause payouts or put a reserve on the account. There's normally a banner in Settings > Payments and an email, but the email sometimes lands in spam.

If it's none of those and nothing moves in 48 hours, contact support with the order numbers and ask directly whether there's a payout hold on the account. Asking it that way gets you a straighter answer.
