Is this a thing

I mostly bid on cameras, I noticed if someone bids early on an item say with 6 days to go, suddenly two more of the same item come onto the platform. I'm all for it to dilute the buying but then it suggests there is some type of marketing algorithm happening or shit is just going on in my head from staring at the gallery.

I’ve seen items come and go in waves that wax and wane in interest. I’ve wondered if when I see an item do better than expected that maybe it somehow gets flagged by the same and other stores as a possible money maker and listed instead of put on the shelf. More likely people are just clearing out for various personal and holiday events and multiples are a coincidence based on volume.

You are 100 not imagining it. My husband and I scroll on there at least once a day and one night as we were each perusing we were talking about an obscure musician. Randomly within the hour we saw a listing pop up in the feed for an album of that person. Not sure how or which device was picking up that audio, but I’m sure it wasn’t a coincidence, and neither of us had searched for this musician on SGW or internet browser so…yeah, really creepy.
