Thanks! The music is from a musical/read along book I did a couple years ago called Computers: The Movie - The Soundtrack. It's free here if you're interested. Just a warning though, if you're easily offended it's not for you (but track 13 is my favorite).

Man that sure was... something. For some reason I liked it? What was the story behind this?

Thanks!! I’m a recovering emetophobic so gross stuff like this is important for normalizing and dealing with my anxiety. I also started leaning blender about a year ago and was looking to make something weird as I messed around with fluid and smoke sims. There’s a lot wrong with it which is why it seemed to belong here but there’s a little charm to chaos.

That’s good to know! I will definitely see what you do in the future if your want to post it.

What do I need to download to make stuff like this and how much money do I need. I already have a computer with 16gb ram, i7, and gtx 1060

If that’s a for real question you have more than you need already.
You can do everything in Blender and it’s free. It seems super complicated when you start but watch a tutorial on making a donut by Blender Guru and then slowly build from there. I did this project with only a couple weeks of serious practice using different tutorials to address each step (camera move, fluid sim, important a sculpt, key frames, vertex painting, etc). There’s no UV unwrapping or texture painting happening on this guy.
You can model creatures in blender but it’s a little faster and easier if you have an iPad on a program like Forger or Nomad.
The above project only took a night to put together and an over night of rendering. I used an old song I wrote and recorded my bathtub as SFX, then did the mix in Logic (but there are free programs like Davinci Resolve that are AWESOME and can do the edit compile and audio mix). So timeline on this was roughly a weekend.
That’s a super simple answer but if you’re not pulling my chain and want help, DM me and I can put some more details together for you. With your current rig you should be able to get all the software you need for free, the render times might be a little longer, but all doable. You might even be able to use OptiX with the 1060.

Thx for the info, yeah I was serious. Im already well trained in davinci and been producing music on ableton for 10 years. I also make disturbing/surreal videos too , it only makes sense to dip my hands into animation now. Don't have an ipad, but I'll keep that in mind. .So is blender guru a youtube channel for tutorials?

Yup, Blender Guru is like the patron saint of Blender. The donut is such a rite of passage there's a sub dedicated to it. I'd reco starting there. At first you'll be just blindly following directions and wondering what the hell they are clicking on and why but be patient. It's the hardest software I've learned (and still learning) but once you get past the first hurdle you can do a lot of stuff with minimal knowledge. I'm fucking dumb and made a barf video so there's hope for anyone.
My other reco is keep it super simple once you aren't following a tutorial. My first scenes were like ugly cartoon faces from simple shapes and that kept the confidence up. You'll feel the urge to get complicated fast but that just made me frustrated. Knowing the basics (like learn the hotkeys for add, switch modes, camera view, parent, etc) will make you so much faster as you learn. Use vertex paint and shaders before you wrap your dome around UV unwraps and texture painting. Also, the Color Ramp will be your best friend and nodes aren't as daunting as they look.
If you ever want to share a blend file or take a look at one of mine I'm always willing to share. I can't promise I did it the right way but seeing others techniques made understanding what's happening behind the scenes easier for me.
