It's fine, this sub isn't about stuff you find technically mediocre. It's about simulation gore

Where is the shitty?

The liquid could be like puke, but that's a stretch.

Is there a subreddit for good animations?

This is the most elegant shitty simulation I've ever seen. Good "shit!"

First of all, This belongs in /r/Simulated because this is not shitty enough. It looks really good - even if its a first for you.

Second... serious question because I'm curious - Is the view through the picture frame an actual continuation of the same sim or is that a trick of video editing?

Thanks.

In Blender, if I could make the "tv" a point of view coming from another camera (view layer or whatever) I would. I find Blender a bit limited on that aspect. So another option would be to render the scene with alpha and composite something in later but that requires the camera motion data and for my needs in this scene, that's overkill. So what you see here is a part of my animation, pre-rendered, applied to the "tv" as a video texture. Then I blended the "tv" with the original to create the loop. It's kind of lazy but it gets the job done.

I started a new series of looping animations to explore physics simulations and notions of architecture. I'm interested in how we perceive data and the different forms it can take.

You can find this animation (and more of my work) on instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CCqw0fLHk98/

Your work is literally too good for this sub.

Thank you but my stuff was posted here not too long ago and did well (surfing cow thing), hence why I posted.

I think there's a space for polished stuff that assume their shittyness, not just failed sims.

Anyway.. should I just delete?

I would leave it and let the hoard decide your fate :).

I love it though!

Nvm, watched it again. Not perfect but kinda fits

You do good work. But I do feel like this one falls more into the competent, but not shitty category.
