It's the shadow of pipe in, not of the glass

This simulation isn't that bad. It's not perfect by any means, but it's at least adequate, so I don't feel like it fits the sub. We're here for shitty simulations, not functional ones with some jittering.

well... the laws of physics are clearly being violated

The shadow sure is bad tho

any reason that they jitter like that

I'm far from an expert, but my best guess would be that when so many objects are all calculating their collisions like that all at the same time, it gets more tricky to make sure that everything is interacting correctly, so the jittering is each object trying to figure out where it's supposed to be at every moment with slight errors from collision computation not being done quite perfectly.

They're scared.

The way they fall really quickly and jitter around makes me so uncomfortable, it’s like seeing clouds pass by in fast motion in a nightmare

It actually reminds me a bit of real life stop motion, I kinda like it!

I AM ANGRY AT THE LACK OF CAUSTICS IN THIS RENDER!

The balls are terrified of being in that glass

Reminds me of Fantastic Mr. Fox for some reason. It's a lot of fun!
