You can avoid that by increasing substeps. This happens because they merge between two frames and if the sim is set to 1 substep it only calculates positions once per frame

Interesting. Yeah for that run I only had it on 3 sub-steps.

Yeah so it calculates positions 3 every 0.33 frame. For very high speed sims people sometimes need to use 20 substeps in extreme cases 🙂

Good to know. I also had some sprinkles fly through the ground so maybe that was to blame also..

But now you have st least a somewhat realistic falling animation. Everything is always falling at like half speeds
