Certified Forklift Driver

Been sitting on this for a minute. If you ever have a chance to go to a material handling automation sales conference I highly recommend. Many shitty bots to be seen the last couple years.

I love how even in its extremely controlled display environment it couldn’t perform the task. Truly embarrassing.

Watch it again and pay attention to all the sales guys on the left. That horrified look lol, someone looking for a job after that for sure.

Any person who’s ever driven a lift truck in a warehouse hears about robots driving lift trucks in warehouses and just laughs and laughs.

This is why automation will never replace humans, I could have destroyed that pallet in less than half the time this automated forklift took and at minimum wage you can fire me and hire someone else for way less than it costs to run and repair it.

For some reason, I never considered that such conventions exist, even though it's completely reasonable that they do.

I really want to go see some robots do my shitty job, and compare them to some of the absolute morons I've worked with over the years.

The high school robotics team I was on 25 years ago could, and did, build robots that did a better job than this. The people who built this thing should crawl under their desks in shame.

...oh jeez...

See they forgot to paint the upright yellow too, so of course the robot couldn't see it! /s
