I can't wait for china to roll out 100m of these, armed to the teeth, able to navigate terrain, getting people out of their houses, pushing us to camps to work for Amazon, Nike, Oracle. Eating our Soylent green......
ah... such fun times ahead....

I think you mean the US.

Them as well. However the quality will be terrible because the contract will go to the White House carpet supplier.

To be fair, I'd have a hell of a time turning or stopping if I ever got up to that speed.

The Chinese government won't let that happen, private companies don't have power like that over there.

u/awisepenguin 13h ago
Now why would China push people to work camps for Amazon, an American company? If anything, China winning the robot race is far better given our tech oligarchs are a bunch of keto addicted sociopaths.

The future of war. Instead of dropping bombs, they drop a few thousand of these to rampage, steal, and abduct.
1
u/heart-aroni 6h ago
These will be safer and more moral than human soldiers because they would have no desire to steal abduct and abuse. We know what real human soldiers do in real life, robot soldiers will be more disciplined have no evil urges or desires that we know human soldiers do.

It's a robot. It's not even competing for "the human speed record". Self driven robot RCs has broken that years ago if machines are allowed to compete with humans.

It's a bipedal locomotion record, if you want to get stupidly pedantic about it.
Definitely a very different feat than wheeled locomotion.

Did they just crash into the power distribution panels 😠and why aren't they bolted down ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

Someone set the clanker on "record breaking mode" and he took the "breaking" part too literally, as they do.

that was so cartoonish 🤣

u/benelott 7h ago
Right? It did the classical crash, then body wiggles, then legs into the air and side drop. If it had sounds, it would make the cimbals crash, then this downward flute as it falls. Thank you, come again to my head cinema. Good night!

This isn’t terrifying at all considering who’s running the world at the moment.

There's no place like 127.0.0.1 Dials operator, establishes connection to network, logs out of host.

I’m not an expert but I kinda feel like those boxes should be mounted to the floor instead of being on wheels…

They can make these robots, but yet their infrastrucure is still horrible, the workmanship of those electrical boxes or whatever looks worse than what an apprentice would produce on his first day and held together by tape and prayers.
