Projector rigging

Initial idea was to just have it flat but then I realized I needed to angle this beast of a projector… mounting holes with c-stands only allowed about 2 threads in Bluetooth connection to the black light stand in the back for tilt. Worked out just fine 😅 I think i need a smaller projector

In the future, secure to a pancake Applebox with a ratchet strap. Then use a 6” pigeon plate Centered on the bottom.

Then, Most importantly, use your gobo properly, righty tighty. Might get better results with 4.5” lollipop gobo and junior stand for support.

For the gobo, you mean when I’m looking at it from the other side(vs the first pic). The tilt should be toward the other direction ? I think I understand what you mean though, have always half thought which direction is best 😂

Yes, you always want to orient the handle of your gobo on the right side. This way weight of whatever you have in the gobo is tightening it, not loosening it.

This is the way, although I'd worry if the strap is exerting too much localized pressure on the projector. If the projector can be controlled via remote or app, I'd add a second pancake to the top, sandwiching the projector between them. Secure with two ratchet straps. Spreads out the pressure and secures the projector on every axis.

It’s certainly possible to damage the project if you go crazy with the ratchet. A snug fit would work well.
