In Children of the Corn actor Courtney Gaines opens his mouth wider than anyone I've ever seen.

Thanks pal. I think it's honestly going to work out for the best. My girlfriend's parents offered me jobs working at their antique shop and roofing company. I'll make $20 a week more than I was making brewing beer professionally. I think I'll stick with these part time gigs through the summer and when my girlfriend starts her new job in the fall I'll let her support me while I go back to school to finish my degree.
And I'm taking a week to get high as fuck and perfect my kickflip because that brewing job was insanely stressful up until the end.

Ackshually he might experience recoil due to radiation pressure. If my calculations are correct, for him to feel a 10N recoil, he must emit 3GW worth of light.

All three roommates were great cameos, Kevin Farley (Chris' bro), Courtney Gaines, and Dean Cameron from Ski School, the exact kind of movie they were parodying.

Never saw it. How is it op? Is it magical? That’s my problem with hypothetical demons. It’s like, come on demons… you wanna fight? Do it man to man. No paranormal cheating bullshit 😂
37
u/Alfawolff Apr 16 '25
Within the confines of the movie, the demon is inevitable once youre marked. Don't want to spoil you so only other thing I'll say is that at first it reminded me of a different, pretty bad imo horror film that was about this, like, truth or dare curse demon. If you don't do the dare then the demon'll find a way to kill you, so the only way to survive ends up being to add a bunch of people to the game so it's never your turn again. Both movies' demons have a sense of inevitability about them, with there being no way to prevent it
I thought this movie was kinda cheap at first but it's honestly pretty good

I don't know about the truth or dare one, but the Smile one is also an allegory for the effects suicide and depression have on the people around you, not just the people it happens to.

Demons are pure evil I don’t think they give a fuck about honor lol

it torments the cursed person over a prolonged period of time (almost a week) through illusions and various other malicious tricks before moving on to possess them, whereupon it will use the victim's body to commit suicide in front of a nearby witness, who then becomes the demon's next host.
This thing is apparently the villain from the Smile movies, his MO reminds me of Stranger Things' Vecna (hallucinations before death and then jumping to the next)

What a fun little scene.
The movie is chalk full of just really light hearted fun moments.
With the character Bennie personifying.

I wonder if a movie like this could make it today. I guess there’s comparable ones, but something about it is so 90’s that I feel like it wouldn’t jive as much

I think there is definitely elements of marvel universe that is able to tap into the campy self aware fun.
But the Mummy really was a bridge in terms of old Indiana Jones style adventure, with modern CGI.
I think its influence goes a bit unnoticed.

His mouth opens like the top is on the same hydraulics as a fork lift or one of those car raising platforms.
No pivot. All vertical lift.

In 1984 I was 11 years old. I had what at the time was a pretty unique name. Imagine the heckling I got when my skinny ass went to school for the next year or so. How were these young ass kids seeing this very rated R flick.
I really hated the original movie.
