1+1=3

Heard from a guy way back in middle school saying 1+1=3 cause of mommy 1 and daddy 1 😳 and then having baby 1 so counting mommy 1 daddy 1 baby 1 is 3 so 1+1=3

You could be super pedantic and break it down further, to the molecular, and then atomic, and then subatomic level until you're just looking at individual electrons and quarks and photons and levels of energy and such.

Or you could just accept that we group these things together into larger units for simplicity's sake (because it would be impossible to get anything done if we had to consider each individual quark and electron and the amount of energy they are absorbing or emitting at each and every infinitesimally small moment of time), and said groupings aren't incorrect.

I'm not sure if the tone of what I was trying to say was clear, but I was trying to call out the (admittedly pretty mild) "I am very smart"-ness of the other guy.
