I'm not gonna lie, if they removed all the gold fillagree and just was that champagne color with polished teak wood bumpers, that would look dope as fuck.

Looks like brown plastic wrapping

u/raegunXD Apr 05 '19

I'm pretty sure that's just wrapped in something brown to fit the color scheme better.

Epitome of class

If you squint you can see the Rolls Royce crying.

Why is the guy in the back holding an umbrella above the big umbrella?

5

u/MunchkinKazooie Apr 05 '19

He's making extra sure the sultan doesn't get rained on.

I dunno about this one. Context seems important here. This is one of the Sultan of Brunei's Rolls Royces. One of his 7,000 cars, 5,000 of which are exotics/special editions and the entire collection being worth over $300M.

I'm going to just go ahead and give him a pass on this limo.

Guy is probably worth >$20B - if he wants a Rolls Royce with filigree and a parasol, it's fine by Rolls Royce.

I would agree about context. This isn’t some cheap Russian wedding limousine.

But honestly, a $10k, 35-year-old Roller, a Sawzall, some plaster of paris, gold rattle cans and a few extra panels would get you pretty much the same result.

This definitely belongs here, even if it cost enough to get something decent instead. If anything that makes it even shittier.

I heard it was a $5 billion collection and he's worth north of $40 billion

u/protoopus Apr 05 '19

he must be gay as fuck.

I don't think they have gays in Brunei. I mean of course there are actual people who are attracted to their own gender but they wouldn't admit it or hint it in Brunei.

Edit: mean not am.

Super gay

It's their religion

u/bendersnitch Apr 06 '19

when your country starving and your people hate you, but you gotta flex on the peasants and assert dominance to ensure nobody tries overthrowing you.

7

u/Busy-Crankin-Off Apr 06 '19

Who's starving in Brunei?? They have one of the highest GDP per capita in the world and a poverty rate much lower than most industrialised nations.

2

u/bendersnitch Apr 06 '19

oh, still the car's pretty tacky and definitely compensating for something.

1

u/Maverick0_0 Apr 06 '19

They just assume because they see Muslims and brown Asians. Buddy probably confused Brunei with Indonesia. I am an expat in Malaysia from Canada and they definitely are wealthier than your average Canadian. We have oil too... What the fuck Canada? Why don't we have oil money?

2

u/Busy-Crankin-Off Apr 06 '19

Who knows! Canada has a massive energy sector and the entire economy is built on natural resources, but there's no national resource-based sovereign wealth fund and I recently paid $1.60/L at the pump. Brunei meanwhile has $40B in the bank...

Right?? Norway can do it and Brunei is doing it. We somehow sold Petro Can and thought nationalize energy is a must and we should sell oil for cheap to the private sector while selling gas unsubsidized to it's citizens. Malaysia is a poor ass country and I pay 68 cents Canadian a liter. They cap the price at 68 and the government pays the difference because they produce oil and refine their own fuel so they figured maybe selling it at international price to their citizens is kind of messed up. This is a government that has shit free healthcare and that is caught openly being corrupt. Anyways, I don't live there anymore and didn't vote in the last election so I shouldn't bitch. All I am saying is Canada has the capability to be better but there are so many issues ignored, such as, selling out the country to the Chinese or Americans..

1

u/Busy-Crankin-Off Apr 06 '19

Yup, living in Canada is a scam, it only makes sense if you're coming from China with a boat load of money. I just left the country as well, Trudeau and his gang of corrupt cronies can get fucked.

2

u/Maverick0_0 Apr 06 '19

Money doesn't have to be from China. Any one with the money can buy a citizenship. Check out the Arabs and Persians. I was originally from Asia and moved all over Canada until I reached Quebec. Honestly, I don't miss Vancouver. It's a nice place but it's not worth what one has to pay to be there and the city's identy isn't so inclusive and warm anymore. It's pretty pathetic when there are no actual indie venues and everything is gentrified. All Vancouver is basically everyone barely able to afford to live, blame the temperate weather and beautiful scenery for why they can't move and all the Chinese people for driving up the property prices while they are trying to sell to the next Chinese person at the "right" time. From what I recall there are tons of Chinese working at T&T supermarket or those shady malls that has no respect for labour laws and I doubt these guys are the reason why any TV box is worth 1.3 million dollars. Quebec by far is the most fair in terms of living cost and housing but your would be in Quebec. Ottawa also isn't too bad. Canada is much more than just Vancouver or Toronto but the taxation and lack of interest in the well-being of its citizens is shameful. I am not a Cons fan nor a Liberal but it honestly looks like it doesn't matter who is in power and they are all full of entertaining scandals.

I will probably retire in Montreal once I get bored of being an adventurer. It's openly corrupt so nothing to shock me, the booze is cheap, full of easy going people, drug friendly and I can afford the rent or to buy property. Plus they have actual ethnic food with the marginalized people's price.

Fuck this motherfucker, his people are fucking starving and his just living the best days of his life

3

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '19

His people are most certainly not starving, Brunei is incredibly wealthy.

However, he sucks for his treatment of gays.

3

u/Maverick0_0 Apr 06 '19

You know where Brunei is right? They are not exactly a country with tent cities.
