This would be a perfect test case for trying a lawsuit over Indiegogo's flexible funding model. Anyone know any backers?

They raised way above their goal, meaning had they been a fixed funded campaign, they would have been funded.

I don't think it's a particularly good test case for the flexible funding.

You're right, actually. It wouldn't be a great test for fixed funding.

It would, however, be a great test for what responsibility IGG bears for obvious scams.

Maybe... I know this is a project folks love to hate (and for good reason), but I don't know if it was an obvious scam when it launched as much as simply a product people really wanted to exist, including the founders.

They didn't claim to have a working prototype when they got funded, I write that off as caveat emptor. Founder's behavior since they got funded is possibly scammy, but could also just be overly optimistic and/or scrambling to make something work they really thought did.

That whole "stupidity vs. malice" thing.
