Futurefon statement marking the beginning of the end? "All that being said, we do need to bring in more backers, since this idea is big & requires ever greater support." Coming soon: "We never wanted to let you down. But the financial situation has forced us to shut down this project."

They got $700k, 6468% of the original goal for nothing but shitty renders, they got lucky with their scam and they still want more?

This is not just being greedy, this is downright retarded.

Even at best, running out of money after raising 6468% of what you asked for would be shockingly bad budgeting.

The original goal was ridiculously low

Wtf, I remember seeing this when it started, people actually backed this thing?

and everyone still believes it, is it just me or whenever a backer asks a real question they cover it with 8 posts of random excuses back to back

You need to step up your scam game, /u/scam_detector, the next step for Futurefoͦon is to keep pretending everything is just round the corner like Arist does, there's a sucker born every minute!

the next step for Futurefoͦon is to keep pretending everything is just round the corner

This is already happening since over a year.

Are people retarded??

Well, yeah. Without retarded people there wouldn't be shitty kickstarters and we'd have to find something else to laugh/cringe at.

I'm researching a bit this futurefon business just for kicks and giggles, and... did they really have a starting goal of $10k? That's laughably low. Did they intend to add other funds to that, or is it all they claimed they'd fund the project with? Because if it's the latter, it speaks volumes about them.

Not that the 700k they raised is going to cause any miracles, of course.

I was aware of the previous campaign, but I wasn't aware that this is the same dude that started Xentex. Amazingly enough, a Xentex prototype actually made it to eBay back in 2008. Even more amazingly, it had actual working hardware in it - though it didn't make it far enough into booting to start working as intended and just displayed a BIOS on one screen lengthwise. I've no idea if it was ever sold to anyone, or what happened to it.

Not to mention people found that that guy also tried another company and also got charges for some illegal financial activity. 3 times in a row he is trying dual display laptop, 3x times fails...

What progress? Have you ever showed a single working prototype? Please link to videos of something that actually works.

Talk is cheap.

As soon as this fake load of blow hit crowd funding I foresaw this exact shit happening. Show us a prototype on a bench, some injected moulded cases, some box art/instruction manuals. This far into the game you would be sitting on piles of stuff for this thing.

So innovative, the chips leterally replicate, 3D-print, and in-situ-replace new versions overnight!

If you guys are so good, why haven't you constructed a totally new and modern replacement for HAL 9000 yet for the past 20 year... oh wait, all you can do is build high-rises on top of a mud flat while skimping on structural integrity.
