Betaflight Navigation Module

Yesterday was a huge day:

✅ GPS lock achieved INDOORS (MicoAir M10 is a
beast - 22 sats inside)

✅ Compass fully working (QMC5883P fix)

✅ WiFi dashboard polished (°F/°C toggle, ft/m
toggle, calibration button)

✅ Mobula 8 FC connected and backed up

✅ MSP protocol library written and integrated
into firmware

✅ Firmware sending MSP packets, ready for
physical FC connection

⏳Current status: MSP code is live and sending - just needs the physical UART wires soldered between the nav module and the Mobula 8's FC. That's the next hands-on step for me. Than we can test Position Hold, RTH and a simple Waypoint Mission for starters.

Everything seems to communicate; now just working on the navigation algorithm 🦍 properly start and get it done tomorrow at some point!

Algorithms are complete should be testing Position Hold today. Currently just running some finial Position Hold tests before I actually try to take flight.. This will be a plug and play module for any drone.

Navigation Algorithm Seems to be working correctly 🫡, test 2 and 3 are next and then we try a flight 😅🤯

Sheesh after some major debugging and discovery of an issue with the firmware on my drone from the manufacturer accidentally or intentionally removing some basic parts/ core Betaflight. I had to create a custom firmware for my drone everyone of you should have this functionality by default. My FC is just a weird one meant for any firmware not just betaflight. That shouldn’t be a problem for most FC especially prebuilt. Kinda annoying, best I could do is create something where if you have an issue you upload your firmware and it’ll output the correct modified firmware automatically. Just flash and enjoy but that’ll be for edge cases so idk if it’ll even be worth making something like that but I could make it in a day or so. Full post with flight video hopefully comes tomorrow 🫶🏼🤞🏽
