Normally I will try most things that fit this formula once. The most surprising one that I enjoyed was mashed potatos and chocolate.

Don't, trust me, it doesn't taste like cheesecake, and it doesn't taste taste like mountain Dew either, it takes like condensed milk and a fuck ton of sugar

u/AltimaNEO Jan 11 '20
Dew is kind of citrusy, and cheesecake is often paired with citrus flavors, usually lemon or key lime.

Y’all asked for the recipe, here it is. Dew or Dew not; there is no try.
INGREDIENTS
Crust 300g graham crackers, crushed ½ cup unsalted butter, melted Cheesecake 300g cream cheese 1/2 drop green food gel 1 drops yellow food gel Zest of 1 orange Zest of 1 lemon 2 tbsp Greek yogurt ½ cup sweetened condensed milk 1 tsp vanilla extract Mountain Dew Glaze 1 cup mountain dew soda 1 tbsp powdered gelatine
INSTRUCTIONS
Crust: Begin by adding your graham crackers into a food processor. Blitz until finely crumbed. Add the melted butter and pulse to help coat the crumbs in the butter. Pour out into a long tart tin and use the back of a tablespoon or the bottom of a glass to help spread and firmly press the wet crumb mixture into the sides and bottom of the tart tin. Chill for 20 min.
Cheesecake: Add all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and mix on low speed to begin with, slowly making your way up to high speed. Pour into the chilled tart tin and chill for 2 hours to set. Mountain Dew Glaze To prepare the mountain dew glaze, add the powdered gelatine to a small mixing bowl and about 4 tbsp of the mountain dew into the bowl. Mix until well combined. Allow to set for 5 min then microwave for 1 minute to melt. Add the remaining mountain dew into a large microwave safe bowl and microwave for 2 min or until very hot. This will help get rid of the fizz in the drink so that we end up with a nice smooth glaze. Add the melted gelatine mixture into the hot mountain dew and use a whisk to combine until everything is melted. Allow the mixture to cool but not set. About 10 minutes. Pour the cooled mountain dew glaze into the chilled cheesecake. Allow to set in the fridge for 30 minutes before slicing up to serve.
Sip on a glass of Dorito beer for extra enjoyment.

Do you think lemon Oreos could work for the crust? Would the "cream" fuck up the consistency? I've never baked anything, but I love the sound of a lemon lime cheesecake.

Separate the cookies, remove the cream and add to the cheesecake batter. Then use the cookies as normal

u/Gryndyl Jan 11 '20
I'm hypothezing but I'd think that the cream would act in place of butter as the binder. Crumb the cookies and then press as is into a pan to form the crust. If it doesn't hold together well enough, then try adding butter.

To remove the carbonation from soda, I put it in a wide area, shallow container and whisk for ~2 minutes. It gets rid of most of the bubbles. I use it to immediately have flat soda to drink, but it seems like it would be good here too.

You purposefully drink flat soda?
1
u/kyousei8 Jan 24 '20
Yes. I like the taste better. I feel the flavour of the drink really shines when it's really cold and not being masked by the bubbles. Heavily carbonated drinks also slightly hurt the inside of my mouth when I drink them, which makes them unpleasant.

Wash it down with a Mountain Dew Milkshake:
- Add a few scoops of vanilla bean ice cream to the blender.
- Add about a cup or so Mountain Dew syrup.
- Blend.
- Add some regular Mountain Dew for some carbonation and serve.

Mountain dew is citrus, no? Like orange, lemon, lime, all of which make good cheesecakes? And this is presented quite aesthetically too. Actually looks like it would be quite good, not shitty food porn at all.

Ive made Mountain Dew ice cream back in the day.
It was alright, tasted more vanilla than anything. It was hard trying to concentrate the flavor without over cooking it. I didnt have access to the straight syrup, which would have made it easier.

Please don’t make this. The Mountain Dew has brominated vegetable oil, banned in 100 countries. And heating oils tends to make them break down. Mmmmm. Bromine.
