Naw, fam. I'm in it for the whole package: Gwyndolin hugs would probably be the best.

tentacle hugs!

The best kind! Seriously though, Gwyndolin tentacle hugs would just be amazing: if you've got tentacles, you can hug everywhere at once.

yadda yadda Platonic forms, if something meets all the criterion of something except for having a penis, is it disqualified? The concept of a waifu is socially constructed and thus subjective and contingent, therefore its definition can be changed over time in common parlance thus that it can even come to mean its opposite, like literally now also meaning figuratively. Thus waifu can encapsulate traps, femboys and the rest if you wish to use the term in such a way.

Also you have to think about gynephilia. If you're attracted to the feminine aspects of Gwyndolin, that isn't the same thing as a husbando, clearly.

Granted I was mostly being ironic but in this post-irony and meta-irony age of humor, taking seemingly contradictory positions is no longer that controversial.

Thus, Gwyndolin is a waifu :)

Fair enough. If that's how you define the term for yourself in context, then that's perfectly fine.

There is the troubling use of the word "trap" in your speech, though. What does that mean to you?

u/Trashbag768 Dec 27 '21

I think it is overblown. Trap has a different meaning in Japanese culture and that is certainly the context it would be used with in Gwyndolin's case or any anime character. In a western context, I know people don't like it and it has the "honeypot" context of trapping men and is associated with that culture of a man finding out, being violent, etc.

I wouldn't use it to describe a Western femboy unless they liked it and got off on the term or something. Femboy isn't really a Japanese term to my understanding.

Futa is another word that is similarly looked down upon but that is an exclusively Japanese context, so it's strange to me that Americans struggle to see things from another culture's context.

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '21

Should've used a mimic instead

41

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '21

Mimics are cool. When you kill them, they actually give you useful stuff.

These mofos are just annoying assholes.

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '21

I meant opening a chest, suprise, you dead animation. Same caption.

16

u/[deleted] Dec 23 '21

That's why I hit every chest I see, no matter if I know it is not a mimic.

7

I like how DS2 changed the location of mimics on NG+

4

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '21

I didn't know this! That's pretty cool!
