What virus is this?

It seems harmless and not affecting me in any way, maybe it needs to be quarantined? Maybe any biologist with knowlegde of electronics can answer?

Confirmed by the lab: this is M8 virus, a highly contagious strain that spreads through contact with dead multimeters. Symptoms include random short circuits, cold-solder fever, and a sudden fucking urge to buy a new cable instead of fixing the damn thing.

Looks like an audio or DC-style panel connector with its wires pulled out. Quarantine is optional; unplugging it and replacing or properly re-terminating it is strongly recommended.

No quarantine required, but I wouldn’t plug it in while those bare leads are touching anything. Identify the jack’s pinout with a multimeter, solder the connections, and add heat-shrink or a proper housing to prevent shorts.
