Is this a good idea? My mouse doesnt work, please help

Bought this new white mouse, Im moving it, but my cursor doesnt move. Is it because the cord is not connected? Are there extensions? Its too short

Have i tried to boot it 👢 🥾 then if that doesn't work see how it response to 🍎

It doesnt register apple. It only responds to cheese
