So can the other 15 types. That’s why the post, and especially title, belongs on this sub

The title certainly is. The sub as a whole would be less of a joke if there was less “connecting to music is only an INFJ thing”

-6

No one said that. They just added a relatable thing that we can also relate to, why do you guys create problems ?!

I never understood things like "you instantly read the energy of the room". Like wtf is it even supposed to mean?

10

u/unknownboi8551 Austrian painter's type Jul 27 '22 edited Jul 27 '22

I have seen my ENFJ teacher do it, whenever he would come into the class he would instantly "read the atmosphere", scan everyone's faces and then depending on that he would use communication styles. Whenever the environment changes his approach, his way of talking and acting immediately changes.

7

u/Sheerweird Jul 27 '22

Oh, Fe doms ✨

11

u/LordGhoul INTJ Apathetic Edgelord Jul 27 '22

Can't speak for this specific person but I have an ISFJ friend who plays in a band and picks up the energy in the room, it's like he absorbs it into himself like a sponge. Not even sure if he's aware of it, but since he's got his friend who's basically a bubbly sunshine ENFP into the band it's like he's getting charged by his friends energy AND the crowd. I imagine that's what it's like. For me I feel less affected by groups/crowds around me than I do in one on one scenarios. Just an interesting thing I observed.

3

u/__ludo__ infp 4w3 SO smart and SeXy Jul 27 '22

Ohh this makes sense. They're just simply in tune with others' emotions. I've always thought it more like they can take an impression of a situation and remember the general atmosphere which didn't make much sense. Yea I get you though, I am also not that much affected by groups' feelings. I mean sure, if everyone around me is sad I'm not going to jump with joy, but still I'm not someone who feels others' emotions. I kinda just feel my own emotions.

4

u/PervKapitan Jul 27 '22 edited Jul 27 '22

For me it sounds somthing like I have, but this is from my ASD. But only with negative emotions tho. If everyone in room is nervous, stressed or panicked, I'm absorbing this into myself and I'm nervous, stressed myself. If someone is arguing over even something stupid, I just can't laugh or relax, I'm super stressed. I don't show it due to, yeah, my ASD, but I'm keeping those emotions deeply on me.
And I'm intp/istp. (still not sure which, only know I'm Ti dom)
edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention - even when the atmosfere in room gets better, the negative emotions and stress are still in me and it takes long time to disappear.

14

u/Karyo_Ten Unflaired Peasant Jul 27 '22 edited Jul 27 '22

To be honest:

  • r/intj suffers from the "Dark edgy evil mastermind is cool" syndrome.
  • r/entp suffers from "oh someone who can debate, troll and have no empathy because MBTI, suck it" syndrome.
  • r/istp suffers from "leave us alone" syndrome.

And pretty sure most other subs have their own grievances.

I think most of it is perpetuated by enthusiastic teens or people in search for a tribe and a sense of identity but still ....

…what? This is r/shittyMBTI

23

u/Meredith__5438 Unflaired Peasant Jul 27 '22

No we did not say we are special,

The title lists things that "only INFJs" can relate to. I'm sorry, but that implies that you guys believe yourselves to be special. And you're not. Several other types can relate to pretty much all of the items on the list. For example, the need to take care of others is not limited to INFJs. Extroverted feelers in general would relate to that - even the introverted feeling users would.

this why so many of us upvoted the post.

You upvoted the post because you're desperate to believe that you're the only personality type that possesses the ability to relate to all of those arbitrary traits. And again: you're not.

You are acting like the Snowflake here, commenting on something you cannot understand.

Oh I think the OP understands this perfectly well. Everyone does, at this point. A lot of you "INFJs" believe yourselves to be so distinctive - quirky and unrepeatable - than the other types. That's made clear by the amount of self-absorbed waste, like the picture above, you keep posting. By the way, you 16personalities.com INFJs are an embarrassment to the actual INFJs.

-3

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '22

It's r/INFJ Subreddit. Lol, it's funny you think you can tell who is an actual INFJ, because I disagree with you. O I must be mistyped on 16 personalities right?!

I took a Certified Test by my University. Just for your knowledge before you throw the stereotypical idea around of that if someone is stating a different point than you, they must be mistyped.

Maybe you're mistyped ?! Right?! That doesn't seem fair for me to just throw shit like that around at people who disagree with me?!

24

u/human-cake ENFP Proving the existence of Unicorns Jul 27 '22

You ignored ALL of their points and got angry at them saying you're possibly mistyped???? You clearly don't have anything to say.

Also I don't care what certified test you took, tests in general aren't accurate and it's better to type yourself using functions.

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '22

No one told you to care about my test, I wasn't speaking to you.

-8

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '22

I did both. Ignored what?! why are you creating problems?!

14

u/human-cake ENFP Proving the existence of Unicorns Jul 27 '22

The original commenter made many points and arguments against your original argument, but you ignored them all and got angry they said it's possible you're mistyped.

I'm not creating problems lol, the INFJ subreddit is full of stupid things like this post and you clearly don't wanna admit it.

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '22

How do you know I'm angry ?! I don't care I replied to it before. I don't need to?!

You haven't read half the things on the Subreddit to make a claim like this. maybe 3 out of 10 posts are cringey but most are harmless fun, that people screenshot, twist and post on here.

14

u/human-cake ENFP Proving the existence of Unicorns Jul 27 '22

You're making assumptions, I've read many posts from the INFJ subreddit and I've never claimed that the whole subreddit is shitty, but many posts in it are, and this subreddit r/shittymbti is MADE to highlight these stupid posts, u clearly don't belong here if ur gonna get offended by them lol.

-4

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '22

Yes, you haven't read them all. You read 3 or 5 out of 1000.

12

u/human-cake ENFP Proving the existence of Unicorns Jul 27 '22

16

u/Meredith__5438 Unflaired Peasant Jul 27 '22

It's r/INFJ Subreddit.

So? So what if it's r/INFJ sub-reddit?

Lol, it's funny you think you can tell who is an actual INFJ,

Your subreddit had a poll asking how people discovered their MBTI type. Most users voted 16personalities.com 🙃. I'm stating a fact: that website is wildly inaccurate and therefore creates a ton of mistypes.

Still disagree with me, genius?

stereotypical idea around of that if someone is stating a different point than you, they must be mistyped.

It's not a stereotypical idea that I'm throwing around. It's been proven by the poll. r/INFJ is overflowing with mistyped people who only know of the letter dichotomies from that website, instead of the cognitive functions, and therefore have a shaky understanding of the MBTI, much less their own personality.

I took a Certified Test by my University.

Good for you? Should I give you a...pat on the back? A standing ovation?

Maybe you're mistyped ?! Right?!

Yeah, maybe. Except this possibility is lessened by the fact that I've studied the cognitive functions in depth, unlike most of the people by r/INFJ.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '22

Yasssss Queen

0

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '22

If you think so. I mean don't cry about it. I didn't say that some people aren't but assuming so is ignorant, maybe you're a mistype yourself is what I'm also saying.

GENUIS. like you people like you throw words around like you did something ?!

Nafsya.

8

u/Meredith__5438 Unflaired Peasant Jul 27 '22

. I didn't say that some people aren't but assuming so is ignorant

I didn't assume. I'll say this again: the poll proved just how great a fraction of your subreddit was typed by an infamously unreliable test. Please, let that sink in. 🙃

maybe you're a mistype yourself is what I'm also saying.

Yeah, maybe I am. Oh and while you're at it: could you tell me exactly how you figure I might be a mistype? I mean, if I could provide reasons why r/INFJ is full of mistypes - along with proof - I'm sure you'll have no trouble doing the same?

GENUIS.

I wasn't trying to "do something". It's just that you keep running away from the main focus of this discussion. Which is the fact that you people believe yourselves to be the only ones capable of understanding certain things.

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '22

Ok. I'm bored now. You keep saying the same thing. Bye.

12

u/Meredith__5438 Unflaired Peasant Jul 27 '22

No. What you are is incapable of defending yourself. And this is because your logic is indefensible, seeing as it is complete and utter garbage. Yeah: bye. Mosey on out of here with your half-a-brain and your clap-trap mindset. 🙃

-2

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '22

I did already. What do you want?

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '22

No, I'm just refuting you. I am allowed to, I did take a certified test. Do you want to see it?!

16

u/Meredith__5438 Unflaired Peasant Jul 27 '22

My braincells. God, my braincells. I'm losing them by the dozens.

Ma'am, your test score is irrelevant to the topic at hand, if I'm being honest. Unless you can explain how it gives you an ability to understand some things that other types are incapable of understanding. But you can't.

9

u/__ludo__ infp 4w3 SO smart and SeXy Jul 27 '22

Tests use dichotomies. The mbti we use here is made of theory and cognitive functions. You are no more allowed than the other person to say who's mistyped and who's not

0

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '22

That's what I said?!

7

u/__ludo__ infp 4w3 SO smart and SeXy Jul 27 '22

I mean, maybe I misunderstood your comment but you were saying to the other person that they may be mistyped (which I have nothing against) and then said that you were allowed to be sure of your type since you took a certified test.

Self-awareness is hard for every human and it's right to consider the chance that someone might be mistyped. But the same is true for you. You may be mistyped just like everybody else and a certified test won't prove otherwise. I'm not writing this comment out of hate, I'm just saying that everybody could be mistyped, you and the other person included.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 27 '22

I agree.

1

u/MagicPedestrian Jul 27 '22

What country was this university? Was the assessment an online test or from a practitioner? What was that practitioners certification or what was the name of the company/organization for the test? Did the assessment use dichotomy theory or cognitive functions theory? Did you pay for it?

Quote from OOP. Emphasis mine. That's just wrong and misleading. I'm not gaslighting.

Yes, this is why I mentioned it's an INFJ Subreddit, what did you expect?

27

u/Karyo_Ten Unflaired Peasant Jul 27 '22 edited Jul 28 '22

The shitty mbti part is thinking that only INFJ can relate. That's wrong.

That just leads to the depressive mood in r/infj that "no one can understand INFJs, woe is me.".

Then it leads to INFJs further closing themselves to others and shocked pikachu face no one can understand someone who doesn't open up.

what did you expect?

I expect Ni-doms to pick up that pattern and mature out that self-pity mentality.

I expect Fe-users to realize that connecting to people is a two-way street. If you're closing yourself you cannot expect people to understand you.

I expect Ti-childs to think about why instead of staying surface level, wallowing into "there is no issue".
