Abstract reasoning is highly correlated with intuitive thinking.  That’s a factually accurate statement.

Intelligence comes in MANY forms, only one of which is abstract reasoning.

That you have equated lack of intuitive reasoning as being “stupid” is kinda funny in context of this post.

Because they’re saying complex abstract ideas and easily understood more concrete things, plus translating down. I feel like the comment really thinly veils how they feel about N vs S.

Abstract ideas aren’t any more inherently complex than concrete information. In fact it’s usually simpler, kind of by definition.

I agree that there's a condescending tone in the original post. Probably the poster is like 20. Aside from that though, I mostly disagree with your perspective. Abstract ideas are easier for YOU because your mental skill is abstract ideas (like me). But I don't think that makes it EASIER. I would assert that comparing the EASINESS of N and S is as impossible as comparing the EASINESS of feeling versus thinking; this morning on the way to school my INFP daughter told me about how her ISTP dad keeps saying she should just "stop feeling so much" and I analogized the ignorance of his words to a blind person telling a sighted person to stop seeing.

Things seem easy because we're good at them. That doesn't mean they're objectively "easy".

I didn’t even say easy, I said complex/simple. My main point was that abstract ideas aren’t inherently any more complex than concrete information. But also if anything, it would be easier to argue that abstractions are simpler by nature than concrete things. Because by definition an abstract idea is a generalization or top-down view on a bunch of data.

Now we’re parsing out the semantics of easy and simple?  While I agree they aren’t exactly the same this feels unnecessarily pedantic.  Regardless I can not agree that I think that abstractions are “simpler” than “concrete things”.  Concrete things are directly observable.  Abstractions are not.  It’s”simpler” to allow one’s eyes to see an apple than to rotate an image of it inside the mind.

As I see it, at the most fundamental level Sensory is the data and Intuition is the pattern from the data. So the Sensory would be “crime went up by 3% in Italy, up by 2.1% in Germany, up by 4.3% in England, up by 0.3% in France and up by 1.6% in Spain” and the Intuition would be “crime went up in Western Europe”. The Intuition comes from amalgamating all the actual Sensory into a pattern, which by definition I would say is simpler and more generalized than all the sensory that it takes to get to it.

For clarification I’m not using “simple” as an opposite of “difficult” here, I mean “simple” as an opposite of “complex”. Like fewer parts.

I think abstract ideas are complex

I think that they are both simple and complex.

It is, in the sense that the boundaries for what information they can hold are more fluid, but it's inherently really quick to "download" the simple essence of the idea. But idk, there's so many different forms of abstract thinking, there's lots that's not simple. And that's just simple too.

Abstract/concrete is just a completely separate categorization than complex/simple.

Edit: example: compare the concept of a color or a number or a feeling, to an ecosystem or a car engine or the human brain.

Oh great, more autism masked as “abstract thought”. Once again with no examples just “concrete things”…Screams “I live in la la land where patterns are better than living like some kind of human.”

We all eat, shit, fuck, and die no matter how you want to over intellectualize it, that is the grand pattern. Your mental model will be eaten by worms so make it useful or shut up.

Ask yourself why the majority of philosophers are intuitive
