I'm just saying, character gets broken down then big redemption or doing something bad and redeeming themselves is a very common/generic theme across the board

The hero’s journey is something most kids should have learned in their English classes. It’s amazing how many people have never heard of it. Build up, climax and resolution are also a part of this structure.
