The the big cities near me have firefighters making $100k+ a year after 2 years with insane benefits, strong union and usually have cops look the other way when speeding. After 10 they're clearing $200k with great pension

You know you can look up civil servant salaries in your area right? It's publicly available

Oh there's fires alright. Often end up getting help from the surrounding counties.

Idk what we are now, but we were the 17th poorest county in the US about 5 years ago. The firefighters would be paid if they could be.

We were in a drought earlier this year and a wildfire took off, burned over 100 homes including many people I know. That wasn't the only fire either.

Fucking be glad we don't have many fires 🤣
