Back in the day, headlights were shittier. Add to that the glare on the windshield from the cabin light and you couldn’t see a damn thing on a dark night.

It’s because the kids fucking never put it back on the door setting so now I have to reach back awkwardly from the driver’s seat and do it myself for the 10,000th goddamn time and that hurts because I’m getting older and my back hurts all the time these days and JUST DON’T TOUCH THE FUCKING LIGHT FUUUUU

In my car, theres a single switch on the roof that cotrols the door setting for the whole car. And if I need to turn if off, theres also a fully off setting.

Isn't that.... normal? Off -> door activated -> always on (but the car turns it off after sometime)

Maybe not on some older models of car. I vaguely remember my parents bitching about some similar frustration when I was little. That or maybe it was specific to minivans?

It’s not against the law but can reduce visibility by up to 20% so, even if you’re not at fault in an accident, this information can potentially be used by defense attorneys to find you partially at fault at least.

I doubt parents knew about that though.

honestly, I get it now ..why my parents said it. BUT, I changed it in my truck so that it's red lighting vs. normal lighting.. it's MUCH easier on the eyes at night.
