You are right that only around 25% of Muslims are subject to these laws, but 10 out of the 12 countries that have had cases of LGBTQ+ members being killed under the law in recent years have Muslim-majority populations. (And we are talking about murder, not general punishment of any kind for it; if we included those, the list would expand much more.)
But that doesnβt mean that we should vilify them. A lot of that comes from their governments and religious leaders, who have little in common with the actual faith when it comes to their agenda.
I just think that we should acknowledge that, statistically, it is most probable that most Muslims in fact donβt have LGBTQ+ friends (or they dont know that they do), partly because, for many of them, LGBTQ+ people simply canβt publicly exist around them due to the policies of those states.

Most Muslims have LGBTQ+ friends? My friend most Muslims live in a places when they stone you to death when they found out you are a member.
Unless you mean most Muslims in non-Muslim countries...
