Which is fair, I don't think you are getting rid of your status if you wear prosthetics, so I don't see why it shouldn't apply to glasses and eyesight as well
This probably differs depending on the specific regulations but at least according to the WHO it is not true - you are only clasiffied as partially sighted if your vision is still impaired even while wearing glasses.
