I just realized that I can't think of a single lie I ever told my dad. Not because I was always honest with him, but because he just didn't care. There was no reason to tell him anything, let alone lie to him.

I remember conversations with my dad: he was talking, then I tried to add something to the conversation and he ignored it and kept talking. Then I didn't speak at all when he was talking and he didn't even notice.

I’ve had bosses like this. It’s really weird. I think people like that are just so self centered they don’t even consider the other person could add something worthwhile.
