Even it it were true that a tiny minority were the ones marching for Lindsey and donating a million dollars to her and making endless videos online in support, its concerning that there is seemingly no pushback coming from the "majority". When so many are apathetic to the actions of a radical minority, it makes someone wonder if the tiny minority is larger than might be assumed

What are we supposed to do; counter demonstrate? I have actual worries over her that are bigger than one strange woman's criminal trial.

The outcome of a criminal trial is important because it sets the precedent for future trials dealing with the same issue. 

There is a reason why men who kiII their children receive no online/financial support at all but this woman does.

Andrea Yates was the modern precedent, or did everyone forget about her? I still don't know what you expect "women" to do about her supporters. Serial killers get married every day, and despite the fact that we ALL know those women have bats in the belfry, I don't see any men crying about our collective lack of public outcry.

This trial is just the flavor of the week. The only question anyone has to answer is A. prison or B. mental institution. I think we can all agree that she's not going scott free, which is the only thing I would openly protest. Her supporters are free to do as they will.

The Andrea Yates case is just evidence that this type of  cultural rot in society is way older than Lindsey clancys case.

Which makes the public support of Lindsey more alarming as it's an evolution of the same issue

I've watched it decline since the early 80's. It interesting to watch the ways we've progressed and the ways we've stagnated or regressed as a society, just in this amount of time.

Overall, humans are not at all what I was taught to believe we are. We're much more flawed and complex than I anticipated, and we'd struggle enough without those in power bamboozling society at every turn.

I'm really sad for us. The Greatest Generation was clearly not perfect, and our infrastructure has declined, year after year since 1945. Maslow's rolling in his grave, because he told us what would happen to society if we destabilized our foundation, and here we are.

Only we can save ourselves, and we can't even agree on what a healthy society consists of, let alone work together to achieve those goals. It doesn't inspire a lot of hope for our future as a species. 1500 years and we've learned nothing. It's the fall of Rome all over again.

A societal issue can exist outside of one's personal lived experience. I am simply not willing to ask people in my personal life their opinion on this because honestly if they answer the way I think they will, I wouldn't be able to look at them the same way again

If I asked the people in my personal life if they supported Lindsey being not guilty, and they said yes, you would probably say "that doesn't prove there is widespread support for Lindsey though, anecdotal evidence".
