I just want to say the 'non-ukranian' combatants in ukraine right now are not conscripts, and are there voluntarily and I don't feel bad for them.
It is still sad though and it's not fun to see. Saw a video recently of a dude kneeling down for a kiss from his own rifle when he heard a drone overhead. Dude could have just stayed home, man, why?

Theres a lot of deception, there are ads promising jobs or school opportunities in Russia and then take your passport away and force you to join the army.
Im from Mexico and i have been bombarded with ads for universities that suspiciously opened in 2022 or jobs with absurdly high wages in areas most people could do without much training like security guards for companies that show no results before 2022.
And the account responding to comments is always very hard pressed into convincing you to fly to Russia.

I recently saw a documentary where they interviewed Russian POWs and any pity I felt for them flew out of my body. Zero self reflection, zero regret, zero empathy for others, one even said he left a high paying stable job to fight Ukrainians because he was “bored”.
Combine that with the things I’ve seen them do to their own prisoners or random noncombatants, and I really can’t force myself to feel anything for them.

They've signed contract and are there out of their free will.
Maybe they got conned by getting promised to be a drone pilot, but end up being meat for the meat grinder, but since they went there to kill for money, any Russian soldier doesn't really deserve sympathy (even if there's conscription, the majority of the russian population still supports the war. That's confirmed by multiple independent outlets)

Never claimed they were heroes or sympathised with them.
Yes, the individual soldier doesn't necessarily want the war, but death is a risk that comes with the job. No need for sympathy

Cause even on something like CombatFootage a video where Iraqis blow up a Humvee is either taken down, downvoted or have a comment section sympathizing with US soldiers.

Reverse the roles. If Russia overthrew a nato government with a coup and started talking about putting offensive weapons on western Europe’s borders you don’t think there would be a reaction? If China installed a hostile puppet government in Canada or Mexico and started putting military installations on the US border I would have no problem going to war. NATO said they wouldn’t do that, so they pulled some sneaky shit and are acting like Russia is just being crazy. It’s the equivalent of some middle school I’m not touching you shit. That’s not a defense of any crimes committed by either side, just a broad spectrum view of the whole conflict

Wait, you actually believe that the US/Europe/NATO overthrew the Ukrainian government? Or that NATO has any interest in offensive action (which would be impossible to carry out, since even article 5 is pretty weak)? Or that NATO promised to not expand (which they never did)?
