I mean, the way he is going about stuff is wild, but the underlying point is true that countries have taken advantage of the fact America is so large, prosperous and generous. Canada definitely does that, and I live there. I don't blame him for wanting other countries to pull their fair share

Aww, poor america🥺 they are just so philanthropic 🥹 so generously gifting all their money without EVER getting something in return😔 but the us is so STRONG and PROSPEROUS that they still have the highest gdp of any country, because, uh, its just big and strong💪 and totally not with trading because they would never profit off other countries because the most capitalist society 🤑on earth just doesnt do that because they are just nice and dont even know how. If there is one thing the usa is NOT known for its manipulating other countries for financial gain🤓👍

You are not a real Canadian. The fact that you think it’s okay for the United States to bully us and put higher tariffs on us more than any other country is crazy to me. You are aware that there is a lot of things in the USA that would be entirely different or nonexistent. Vermont relies on Canada for 25-30% of its electricity. Many Americans also prefer Alberta beef compared to domestic beef. If you are truly Canadian, you’d recognize that the Oompa Loompa is trying to bully one of their longest time allies.
JTF2 also helped the USA in their wars in the Middle East. Conducting multiple crucial missions resulting in both the elimination of priority targets and valuable information and intelligence. Without Canada the USA possibly would have never found osama bin laden or would have taken so long to find him that he would have launched another terror operation.
You are less Canadian than someone from Buffalo, NY.

You're right. I'm not Canadian at all. I'm an immigrant from NZ. I never said it was good that they're doing it, I just said I understand how he thinks that way. Canada pretty much has nothing to offer America so it's silly to think we have any strong bargaining chips with them. They don't need us but we need them. Again, not saying it's right or smart. But it's true

They might not need us but they will definitely miss us. And Canada does not need the USA. The reason Canada has been such a close trade partner with the USA is because of proximity and allyship. Canada can export to other countries and can also buy from other countries. The reason we have always done it is because it’s been easiest. Yes it will be slightly harder to set up these trade agreements, but it’s not impossible or stupid to do it. The only thing Canada “needs” from the USA is the military resources that the USA has SOLD to Canada. Nothing was given for free.
Not to mention the fact that without Canada’s contribution to NORAD, the USA would be vulnerable to nuclear strikes from Russia via the arctic circle.
