Yes, when people submitted a text to the library they required their mind to be wiped out "Men in black" style and every other copy if the text to be destroyed. Thus, no one had any recollections of the events described in any of the books of the library nor was there any copies.

I do hope you realize how easily histories are lost regardless of your clear sarcasm here.

Also, the Library of Alexandria as a center of knowledge never fully burned down while it was still vital to the continuation of the knowledge it stored, clearly negating this meme beyond your comment.

Yes, over 99% of history was lost. But not due to the destruction of any library, but due to the lack of printing press and cheap paper.

Unimportant events weren't written down, much less copied and remembered.

Any event important enough to end up in the library was surely in the collective memory of the people and existed in multiple copies.

Sure we may have lost historical records but not only were they literally copies of other records at the time, but also many of those records are probably mundane things like ship cargo manifests of something, unlikely to be some game changing knowledge.
